My position as the NY State Trustee requires me to regularly attend State
Executive Board meetings and monitor the different programs and issues that
the State is involved with.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The NYS FOP meeting was held on Thursday, February 2, 2012 below are the highlights of
the meeting:
o A motion was made to make a change in the NYSFOP By-Laws on Article 4, Eligibility
for Election to the State Board.
’ Candidates for election to the office of President and Executive Vice President must have
served on the State Board of the NYS FOP Empire State Lodge for a period of not less then
two (2) terms’.
(The reason for the proposed changes will provide for continuity of the positions)
o NYSFOP Scholarship Awards – Kathy Burke, requested that each lodge donate $250
and that the State will match $250 and provide to a student a $500 award at the April 2012
Dinner awards. Students should be either 1st year High School or 1st year college

o Memorial Day
This years Memorial Day to honor our fallen brothers and sisters will be held in May.( more
details are coming)
With the passing of the NYS lodges members and a federal agent, a very large attendance
is expected, donations were requested and Lodge 25 donated $100 to this very important
event for our families and friends.
o Lodge Compliance
We have 82 lodges under the NYS Empire lodge,
Area VP's will be sending ‘registered mail ‘to those lodges that are not in compliance
o FOP License Plates
If you had FOP plates and the DMV suspended / revoked your plates, one of the many
reason maybe that you did not pay or belong any further to a Lodge, check your
membership status.
o 2012 Conference
This year the conference will be held in Oct 2012. The location chosen is the ‘ Villa Roma’
prices and agenda to follow in the coming months.
Delegates will have to be selected from each lodge for the conference.
o Polar Plunge - 2012
Monies have been collected from other contributing lodges for this upcoming polar
plunge, if you are interesting in donated or jumping in the cold-water contact our lodge.
