Law Enforcement Torch Run June 7, 2006
|
On June 7, 2006 members from various police organizations were asked to
participate in a fund raising event for the Special Olympics New York, the actual
"Law Enforcement Torch Run".
Lodge 25 was selected to run a designated mile of the run and two members,
Tracy Robinson Chu and John Lisa, Recording Secretary, volunteered to run.
The postman's motto is: "Neither rain, nor sleet, nor gloom of night will keep me from
my appointed rounds." As can be seen in the photos below, Tracy and John also
adhered to this motto and braved the elements to successfully complete the run.
Thank you Tracy and John!
Recording Secretary John Lisa, Lodge President Bob Lucente and Member Tracy Robinson Chu enjoy a lull in the rain.
|
Tracy and John await the "passing of the torch" as the skies opened up and the rain came down.
|
The torch is passed to John.
|
The end of the run saw brighter skies and brought out some well deserved smiles!
|
John passes off the torch to the next runner.
